Episode 1 Plot: Two years ago, on Christmas Eve, our protaganist, Junichi Tachibana, got stood up by an unknown girl on a date they both agreed to. Ever since, Junichi has been heartbroken. He meets up with his best friend, Masayoshi, and they go to school. Once there, he accidentally meets Haruka Morishima, the prettiest girl in school, in the cafeteria. She's one year older than Junichi. The two get to talking, and they become acquaintances. Later in the day, the two run into each other accidentally again at the library. She calls him cute, and Junichi resolves to make her his girlfriend. The next day, Junichi is playing leap frog with his male friends, and Haruka joins them by jumping on Junichi's back. Later, the two meet up at the school fountain, and they begin to flirt. Junichi tells Haruka that he likes her but she turns him down.
