Episode 2 Plot: Since the pillar of light appeared, Hijiridani High School student Jounouchi Hisashi has seen visions of spider-like bugs attached to people's hearts. By removing these bugs, he is able to free them from their pain by removing their memories but he becomes addicted to eating the bugs and his strange behavior attracts the attention of a policeman who begins to follow him. Jounouchi encounters the Boogiepop Phantom who takes him to place of light where he finds happiness.
