Episode 8 Plot: Nagi Kirima encounters Ichiro Kishida, thinking that he her first love, Shinpei Kuroda. He follows her as she hunts the Manticore, a flesh eating shape-shifter. They find Echoes who has the appearance of Boogiepop Phantom. They soon run into the Manticore with the appearance of Saotome Masami, but he is not fooled and she attacks him, however, the Boogiepop Phantom intervenes and almost destroys the Manticore. Boogiepop explains that he is responsible for some of the recent disappearances, but it is for their own good.
