Episode 23 Plot: After leaving T.K. and Tokomon, Matt and Gabumon run into Joe and Gomamon as they being forced to work at Digitamamon's diner to pay off a meal. Though Matt agrees to help Joe with the debt, DemiDevimon brides Digitamamon to keep the boys while setting off a series of "accidents" that makes Matt question Joe's friendship by the time Tai and T.K found them. However, it leads to a violent confrontation between the DigiDestined and Digitamamon as Matt seeing Joe as a true friend allows to have Garurumon digivolves to WereGarurumon and defeats Digitamamon. From there, the team decide to split into two groups: Matt and Gabumon with T.K. and Patamon goes to the mountains while the other group: Tai and Agumon with Joe and Gomamon sails through the lake.
