Episode 5 Plot: Chrome and Kohaku scout the enemy's base of operations from afar and realize Gen has infiltrated it. They contact the science crew to inform them of what they found, but Senku, not wanting to risk the enemy eavesdropping on their conversation, quickly ends the call. However, having found their radio frequency, they are contacted by Dr. Xeno who asks for Taiju's presence, believing he's their scientist. Using this deception to their advantage, Taiju calls out Xeno for putting everyone in danger with machine guns, but Xeno reveals that he had a Haber-Bosch plant built to mass produce limitless gunpowder. When asked for information on revival fluid, Taiju refuses to tell Xeno their secret, even at the risk of war, causing Xeno to end the call. They soon hear another plane flying nearby, flown by Stanley, indicating that Xeno knows their location. Knowing that they won't risk flying low following the river chase, Senku plans to turn the Perseus into an aircraft carrier, and that they deploy the plane that they commandeered. Simultaneously, the science crew form a plan to take control of the factory and their cornfield by deducing Chrome and Kohaku's location from the timing of their radio signal with the understanding that Xeno's base is nearby. At the suggestion of Hyoga, a battle team consisting of himself, Tsukasa, Ukyo, and Suika are deployed into the field in order to find Chrome and Kohaku and capture Xeno as well.
