Episode 38 Plot: Mitsuki's grandmother refuses to give her permission to go to America, even after Wakaoji tells her that there is a doctor in America who can perform surgery to cure Mitsuki's cancer and still save her voice. Mitsuki learns about her grandmother's past from an old friend, how she used to love playing the piano, but when her ex-fiancé abandoned her, and her daughter (Mitsuki's mother) ran away and died, she blamed music for it. Mitsuki decides to go to America on her own accord.
