Episode 40 Plot: While Edo is abuzz with talk of the movie Alien vs. Yakuza, a real alien has snuck into Edo from outer space. Kondou gets a tip from renowned alien buster Umibouzu and has the Shinsengumi set up a cordon. Meanwhile, Kagura has fallen for an “it's me” scam, which is causing a sensation in Edo. Kagura obediently follows instructions given by a man claiming to be Gintoki and rushes off to the bank. Unfortunately, the alien also happens to be at the same bank. Worried about Kagura, Gintoki and Shinpachi also arrive at the bank. But Kagura, who is being swallowed by the alien, catches the two and tries to bring them down together.
