Episode 1 Plot: The mercenary group "Black Edge" have taken residence at the royal city of Orvelia and their leader Riheet is invited into the castle by Councilor Moriham, who suggests using the Black Edge to investigate the reports of demonic activity in the King's Forest. Although the royal court of Orvelia rejects the Black Edge's assistance, Riheet discuss plans to take over the nation with his fellow dark elves. Meanwhile, Clause and his squad are tasked with investigating the demons lurking in the forest. The squad falls victim an ambush and multiple soldiers are killed, with only Clause left to hold the line while a single soldier returns to Orvelia to report what happened. Concerned for his friend, Kasel and Frey rush out to save him.
