Episode 1040 Plot: As Speed carries Tama, Nami, and Usopp through Onigashima, with Gazelleman and Daifugo following close behind in order to recover Komachiyo, defending the trio along the way, Zeus asks Nami if he can become her attendant again; however, she declines, asking him to be her partner instead. Elsewhere, the present CP0 agents speculate that 2,000 soldiers switched sides due to Tama's abilities, which, after discounting 2,000 Beast Pirates due to injury, leaves the field at 16,000 vs. 9,000. However, they remark it as inconsequential to them, noting that they only need to confirm Who's-Who's death as punishment for leaving CP9. Meanwhile, Jimbei asks why Who's-Who left the World Government and became a pirate, but Who's-Who just responds that Jimbei functionally did the same thing. Who-Who's reveals his grudge against Luffy comes from the latter having the Gum-Gum Fruit and his connection with Shanks (the one who stole the fruit). The two then argue over their opinions of Luffy. In the ocean, the Heart Pirates continue trying to resuscitate Luffy. Thinking back to his past with Luffy, Jimbei swears to fight as the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates. As they continue to fight, Who's-Who tells Jimbei that while he was imprisoned, he told about the "Sun God" Nika, a legendary warrior of ancient times who would supposedly free slaves. Jimbei asks how this information is relevant to him, and Who's-Who brings up the past slavery of Sun Pirates members and Fish-Men as a whole, asking Jimbei for more information about Nika while mentioning the guard who mockingly told him about Nika was eventually executed, and asks if it's dangerous to even know of his existence. He begins once again bombarding Jimbei with attacks, asking if he knows a lot about slavery due to being a Fish-Man. However, Jimbei just catches Who's-Who's arms, stating that he has nothing to tell him. Jimbei breaks Who's-Who's fingers and steps on his tail, and tells him that if he wants to investigate history then he needs to be prepared for what he'll find as he defeats Who's-Who with Fish-Man Karate Secret Art: Demon Brick Fist.
